s10 t5 tranny

will a t5 tranny from an s10 not sure what motor it was from ,will it hold up behind a stock 350 ? thinking about putting it in my 48 ford pickup any help or ideas on this would be useful thanks people

I have used lots of s10 t5's behind stock 350's and they stand up fine,they have a lower ratio first gear ,makes it good if you have tall gears in the rear. Make sure you throw a new input shaft bearing in, they are a weak point when the milage is over a hundred k

thanks for the bearing tip is there anything special i need to do to mate the tranny to a 79year 350 the trans is an 85 i believe

I am trying to remember but nothing comes to mind other than the fine spline input shaft,you can use the s10 disc it is smaller about 9 in or so but I think we used the larger camaro 305 unit
