A Body For Our Project Car - Part 2
by Frank Colgoni

The firewall mold has been removed at this point
with only the roof and trunk molds remaining.

All molds have been removed. Cleanup of the flash will begin. After this step, Ramrod can install the steel inner structure which will support the doors and trunk lid and add the important safety factor.

Like the trunk lid, the doors are created from two molds which are joined with the material still tacky enough to bond together as a single unit.

Part of the internal steel structure. The driver's door and hinge are seen on the right side. The hinge is very heavy-duty and built to support the suicide door.
It's a Wrap for Now
We hope you've enjoyed this peek at fiberglass body construction. You'll see lots more of the body and other parts in the future. In our next segment, we'll be starting on the equally important frame.
