Vaughan, Ontario
Toronto Star United Way Car Show
September 2001
You have to hand it to these determined volunteers. When they say they are going to put on car event for the United Way, they put on car event. Earlier in the summer, their first attempt was foiled by a horrendous rain storm. Undaunted, they scheduled another date and held it on a beautiful September day. Dick Wright and his team are to be congratulated for their tenacity. Dick tells us that the whole campaign that he ran for the Star last year raised $264,000 for the United Way. They also picked up 2 prestigious awards from the United Way for the work done. Out of 90 nominees for 6 awards they were able to come home with 2. Quite a year.

We give you a small sampling of what was there.
