As pretty inside as out, the roadster features the fine interior work of John Wilkie of Grimsby,Ontario. Done in two shades of grey with hits of purple to complement the roof and flames. The bench-style seat was scratch built by John.

A Clarion tweeter is seen on the door panel along with a Vision Hot Rod Concepts door handle. Hiding in the door, behind the dark grey cloth, is another Clarion speaker. A further speaker resides in the kick panel. To say the audio system rocks would be an understatement.

Filling the Garry Thomson-built custom dash is a Clarion Audio head unit, VDO gauges and Vintage Air controls.

The dash is deeper than a stock '32 dash which goes a long way to accommodating everything as well as hiding the Vintage Air unit.

Defroster vents were added to the top of the cowl section by Tom.

Custom windshield posts feature moulded-in Vision mirrors and the windshield glass is located in slots in the posts and a slot added to the body.

Not always obvious at first glance, the Garry Thomson hood features inset circular louvers strategically placed on the circumference of the flames. Nice touch. The flames were also applied by Garry.

The roadster sports a warmed-over 350 with TPI by Street & Performance and Corvette aluminum heads. The coated headers are also a Street & Performance item. The engine was built by Forrest and Forrest Racing of Kitchener, Ontario.

Steering linkage is Borgeson, electrical accessories by Ron Francis.

Tom spent many hours smoothing the block and tranny case before painting. The results are awesome.

The chassis and Ramrod body were given the "royal treatment" in terms of preparation for paint. Tom and Bill Simmonds (his wife Linda's father) did an exceptional job.

Ford "Splash" yellow was applied over a white base. Sikkens products were used.

This roadster makes a bold statement.

As mentioned at the top of this article, Tom now operates his own shop, Lowdown Hot Rods, in Cambridge, Ontario. Look for their web site soon. By the way, this Canadian rod now belongs to Canadian Rodders - us. We're proud to own it. Congratulations Tom on a fine ride.
