Cruise-Night is now Canadian Rodder
Inaugural Message from Your Host (cont'd)

Being at a crossroads
So, that takes care of the name. But, why bother?

Cruise-night.com had what I'd call decent success, in it's first full season, at establishing a direction that attracted regular visitors (or maybe just sympathetic family members but I don't think so).

Specifically, the evolution went something like:
- Mostly pictures
- Some event information was added
- A condensed project car build-up
- Commentary (articles that raised questions or expressed opinions)

While we knew people had been checking-out the site (by reviewing web stats), it became real fun when things started to get interactive. i.e. when Rodders began feedbing-back to the articles. As I mentioned earlier (re "fish tales"), Rodders have a lot to say when given the chance.

Further, in most parts of Canada, with a big off-season, the Internet can keep us all connected and in touch.

What about content?
Content shouldn't be a problem - in theory. Canada is a big place with lots going on in the rodding community. The challenge is to get people to direct some of their energy into being part of a bigger picture - a picture bigger than the local club or cruise.

An Invitation
We said this before about cruise-night.com and we're going to say it again. Your contributions are essential and we welcome input and correspondence from all over the country. So. don't be shy. Let's hear from you.

In Closing
We hope you like the new format. A serious amount of work has gone into the design and construction of this site. To introduce the site, we've carried over content from Cruise Night in the gallery and archive. New content will be added after an introductory period.

That's the end of this spiel. We'll talk again later. Your initial impresions are welcome obviously (be gentle).
